In BGC, the thirsty find their way to this 90s themed dive bar to sip on some heady cocktail of choice. The hungry, though, will be introduced to a sneaky good Garlic Steak Rice — a warm bowl of beef, rice, and egg perfect to curb that eventual hangover.
Yes Please is the new bar on the Palace block in Uptown BGC and heeds to the call of the folks wanting a night out that’s not too crazy (call them titas or titos if you wish); the ones who want to start enjoying a cocktail early in the night, perhaps with a good dinner, in a casual dive bar inspired watering hole that often has Nirvana, Coldplay, and Aerosmith on their playlist.
It’s cocktail o’clock and the bar is waiting! On the way? Yes Please!

Top-notch cocktails are to be expected at Yes Please, the bar being the latest cocktail concept of Erwan Heussaff. The drink geek himself could often be found behind the bar here, at his element, mixing guests their choice of poison, and would recommend drinks according to your taste. He happens to know I like to sip spirit-forward cocktails, and recommends the bold and brave Maverick (P590) for that, which I now recommend to everyone. But this piece is an ode to their heavy-hitting grub rather than their drinks; and as every smart drinker knows, lining up your tummy with a righteous meal before loading up is the wise way to do things. So in between sips of that Maverick, have a hefty bowl of their unctuous Garlic Steak Rice.
A mound of garlic fried rice with corn, extra savory with soy sauce, sits on the bowl. Topping the rice are succulent chunks of USDA Flat iron steak, perfectly pink and juicy at the center making every bite extra fulfilling. Completing the breakfast bowl is a sunny side up egg, yolk runny when pierced and acting as an extra sauce for the rice when you mix everything altogether. Juicy meat, mouthwatering carbs, and flavorful fat — everything to cure a hangover, and quite possibly a heartbreak.
After scarfing this bowl down, it was a heady mix of satisfaction and longing — how come I have to find this awesome all-day breakfast food at a bar? It’s craveable at any time of the day, but can only be ordered in the evenings. I guess this tita needs to schedule another early night at Yes Please to fix this craving very soon.
