Nike Free Firsts: The Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic and Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite

Nike introduces a pair of revolutionary Women’s Training footwear offerings designed for High Intensity Training.

High Intensity Training is all about versatility. The female athlete jumps, squats, pushes and pulls. Each day is different. The only constant is sweat. This March, Nike will introduce a pair of revolutionary footwear options designed to promote the balance, stability and flexibility mandated by High Intensity Training. The Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic is the first Free 1.0 in Nike history, and the Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite is the first Women’s Training offering to feature Flyknit technology.

Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic
Stability starts with the feet. An athlete is balanced when in a natural stance. This insight was critically important to the development of the Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic. The first Free 1.0 in Nike history brings Free to unchartered territory with its zero millimeter offset (the difference in height between the heel and forefoot). This gives the female athlete the most barefoot-like feel of any Nike Free, helping her remain balanced, stable and flexible.

The shoe’s ultra-lightweight upper is complemented by Nike dynamic Flywire technology, which wraps up from underneath the foot and integrates with the laces to provide an adaptive and stable fit. This minimizes movement inside the shoe during such activities as twist box jumps. The more anatomically shaped heel and forefoot enable natural motion for multidirectional movement.

Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite
The Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite marks the first Flyknit offering in Women’s Training and combines three of Nike’s most revolutionary innovations: Flyknit, Lunarlon and Nike Free.

The Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite’s lightweight upper acts like a second skin for the athlete’s foot, balancing necessary stability with minimal distraction. Flyknit technology seamlessly integrates areas of breathability, stretch and support where they’re needed most. For example, with this technology, designers can incorporate tighter zones in precise locations where athletes require increased support.

The upper also features Nike dynamic Flywire. The shoe’s drop-in Nike Lunarlon insole delivers lightweight and responsive cushioning, as well as enhanced stability for side-to-side movements. A thin web rubber outsole provides traction and durability for both indoor and outdoor wear, while retaining Nike Free’s famous flexibility.

Like other members of the Nike Free family, the Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite delivers a barefoot-like feel. A two-millimeter offset brings the female athlete lower to the ground and closer to a natural stance. This helps her maintain balance and proper form when doing squats or lifting weights.

Both the Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic and Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite enable natural motion, allowing the foot to bend, flex and behave as nature intended. Free from distraction, the female athlete can focus on getting stronger, fitter and faster.

The Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic will be available at select retailers beginning March 27 and on Nike.com April 3. The Nike Free Hyperfeel Cross Elite will be available in select retailers and on Nike.com beginning May 1.
