On March 14, 2014, UP Sigma Delta Phi Sorority hosted Rockness Monster, a Rockeoke concert celebrating the organization’s 81st anniversary. Students from the UP community went to Arts in the City, Bonifacio Global City to check out great local rock artists, fun booths and monster raffle prizes given away that night. The point was simple: to have fun and celebrate what it means to be #InLove.
ROCKNESS MONSTER marked the end of this year’s Project Bata, Mag-aral Ka, and the launch of the new UP PowerCard. The recipients of the new SDP Scholarship Grant, Fine Arts major Romnick Toledo and Malikhaing Pagsulat major Ainah Dimasacat, were also presented and awarded that night. The night also culminated the #InLove: The Passion Project competition, with Parkour UP, UP Street Dance Club, and UP Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
Highlighting the night was the Rockeoke concert. In line with the sorority’s anniversary theme, bands performed popular love songs that the audience could sing along to. Moonstar88 and Kjwan were the main acts for the night, and they sang their most popular songs.
They also had lucky members of the audience rock out with them on stage. Other performers were student and indie bands 3×2, Aimless, Bata, Lights in Transit, Monohybrid, Papa's Army, Rayf, and With Fingers Crossed. The venue was also packed with various booths: a free-flowing alcohol booth from El Diablo, unlimited photo booth from Hepburn Prints, food booths, and a marriage booth where couples paired up, exchanged vows and had a roaring time being #InLove.
