Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Just Opened Their First Makati Branch!

Urban dwellers of Makati, Popeyes' popular fried chicken comes close to home!

Somethin’s poppin’ in Makati!

After its Manila comeback last year, Popeyes welcomes 2020 with a new branch at the Kroma Tower in Legazpi Village, Makati. Now city dwellers around the area wouldn’t have to go far to have a taste of Popeyes’ world-famous fried chicken and other Cajun-inspired fare.

The restaurant started in 1972 as Chicken On The Run, which served traditional Southern fried chicken in a New Orleans suburb. Somehow lacking in its first few months, the restaurant was then reopened as Popeyes, this time selling spicy New Orleans-style chicken. After four years, its first franchise opened in Louisiana and the rest is history. Now, over twelve years after its stores closed down here in the Philippines, Popeyes is once again expanding here in the country, and we’re glad that it is!

A plate of Popeyes' signature dishes.

On its grand opening this January 6, we got to see what’s poppin’ at Popeyes’ latest branch. Here, they served the attendees some of the best that the franchise has to offer, including their well-loved Biscuits (Honey P45; White Chocolate & Hazelnut P55), Shrimp Burger (P149), Cajun Fries (Regular P42; Medium P60; Large P75), and the Popeyes Spaghetti (P66) that’s exclusive to its Philippine branches.

Of course, we also got to sink our teeth into the famed Popeyes’ Fried Chicken (1-piece with rice, P92; 2-piece with rice, P185) with skin that crackled just right before yielding its juicy and flavorful meat within. No wonder why this signature dish is well-received by many.

“We are extremely grateful for the support we have been continuously receiving ever since we opened our first store at Arcovia City in Pasig. Now, we have 10 branches spread across Metro Manila and we are pleased to finally bring Popeyes to Makati,” said Ton Gatmaitan, the marketing director of Kuya J Group, Popeyes’ parent company here in the Philippines.

Other Popeyes branches are located in Alimall, SM Southmall, Robinsons Galleria, Eastwood, NU MOA, SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, Alabang Town Center, and Arcovia City, Pasig. The latest branch is located at the ground floor of Kroma Tower, Dela Rosa St., Legazpi Village, Makati.
