Bunchies Cafe Boracay

Bunchies Cafe gives you a taste of Aussie coffee culture in Boracay

Bunchies Cafe is inspired by the coffee culture from Australia as well as the unique cuisine of the Philippines.

As Boracay reopens to the public, couple and entrepreneurs Shria and Patrick Florencio, alongside their partners Geda Nival and Ray Martin, are bringing a taste of their old home to the island with their new coffee shop called Bunchies Cafe.

Opened on December 15, Bunchies Cafe was inspired by the coffee culture from Australia as well as the unique cuisine of the Philippines.Ā

The team created a unique menu that highlights the best of both countries. Aside from delicious food and premium quality coffee selections, Bunchies Cafe aims to support small businesses and local suppliers on the island, especially after Boracay had to go through two major closures.Ā

ā€œWe are one of the first cafes in this particular area of Boracay, which is away from the hustle and bustle of White Beach… We are also the first Australian inspired cafe in Boracay,ā€ shared Shria and Patrick, who are also the ones behind another island favorite: Nonieā€™s.

ā€œWe, alongside Arina Bakery, are on a quest to put Sitio Hagdan on the map and make it a place to visit while you are here in Boracay,ā€ they added, pointing out the idyllic location of Bunchies Cafe at Sitio Hagdan, which youā€™ll pass on your way to the beautiful Puka Beach, Ili Iligan Beach, and to Punta Bunga where some of the islandsā€™ premier hotel-resorts are located.Ā

ā€œTourists and locals will be able to grab and go some items to enjoy for a picnic, on your way to town or the airport, or if you are a biking enthusiast, it is a great pit stop on the way to Puka beach,ā€ they said. ā€œYou can also dine in and work from the cafe as we have fast wifi and plenty of outlets.ā€

Bunchies Cafeā€™s menu offers classic Pinoy comfort food with an Australian twist, Aussie favorites, as well as vegetarian- and vegan-friendly options. Make sure to try their signature items like Sausage Rolls, Chicken Tikka Masala Pie, Beef Madras Pie (whose fillings are made by another one of the coupleā€™s culinary pursuits on the island, Little Taj), vegan-friendly Mushroom Tapa Sandwich, Vegemite and Toast with Grilled Cheese, and if youā€™re craving something sweet they have Ube Lamingtons.

As for their drinks, they use premium quality Golden Ticket Coffee by local roasters at Yardstick. They created coffee-based beverages as well as fun drinks with one of a kind twists like Golden Milk Latte, Beetroot Latte, and Blue Pea Lattes. They also make classics like a mean Flat White Espresso.Ā

In fact, Bunchies Cafeā€™s selections are so good that youā€™ll come all the way from Station 3 to Sitio Hagdan just for a cup of their signature coffee! Itā€™s a great way to add more character to the best island and beach in the country ā€” embracing diversity and celebrating cultures through good company, good food, and of course a good cuppa.

Bunchies Cafe is located at Sitio Hagdan, Brgy Yapak, Boracay Island (beside Arina bakery, across 7-11). Itā€™s open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesdays to Sundays, starting December 15th 2020.
